My Story

     Hello, I am so happy to see each of you here today showing and interest in the Life Spark Program. I would like to tell you how Life Spark has helped me.

     I moved to Colorado in September of 2007 for a new job. The excitement of beginning a new chapter in my life was still fresh when I began to experience some trouble swallowing and a lump began to become larger on the left side of my throat. In

     December of 2007, I went to see a Doctor who diagnosed an enlarged lymph node in my neck and a large tumor on my tongue that turned out to be a stage four sarcoma. I was immediately scheduled for surgery to remove the infected lymph nodes and for an aggressive round of chemotherapy and radiation.

     During all of this, my wife Belinda had found out about Life Spark and their offer of Healing touch and Reiki treatment program for cancer patients. Although I was somewhat skeptical, I was also scared and willing to try anything that offered help to fight this cancer.

     I met my Reiki provider and started right away along with my Chemotherapy treatments. The first couple of sessions were not what I expected but I came away feeling more relaxed, which in turn helped with the side-effects of the Chemo.

     As I progressed past the Chemo and on to the radiation, my Reiki sessions and provider became a positive focus towards my recovery.

     About half way into the 35 radiation treatments I was to receive, my neck, mouth and throat had become burned to the point that I had trouble talking, sleeping and needing a food tube to continue eating. Each treatment became more and more of a challenge and I started to not like going for the next session of radiation. But, each time I received a Reiki treatment, I was able to gather strength to carry on for another day or two and go for another round of radiation. I felt a relief from the pain and a renewed inner strength. Without the Reiki sessions I am not sure I would have made it through all 35 sessions of radiation.

     The energy I received thru Reiki and the loving support that was continually provided by my Reiki provider was immeasurable in easing my physical pain and in giving me a renewed sense of well-being. I was more willing and able to endure another day of treatment and help my body rid itself of the cancer within!

     Today I am cancer free and as healthy as I have ever been through the Grace of God and the loving support of family, friends, great doctors and the Life Spark Program. I offer a great big thank you to Life Spark and my Reiki provider.
