The LifeSpark Connection: How Helping Others Heals Us Too

On February 1, I participated in Lynne McTaggart’s Intention Experiment in Boulder, with about 200 people in person and tens of thousands more online worldwide. During the experiment, we focused for ten minutes on bringing peace and cooperation to a specific area of the country in an effort to reduce crime rates.

Over the years, Lynne has conducted hundreds of similar experiments, and the scientists on her team often record significant changes in the targeted focus and area. Although this project’s results won’t be known for another month, we already know how it impacted the participants.

Based on bio-measures tracked at the live event, those who took part in the ten-minute focus on peace and cooperation experienced reduced stress and increased energy levels.

This reminds me of what we see every day at LifeSpark. Time and again, our amazing Reiki and Healing Touch providers tell me how fulfilled and energized they feel after supporting their LifeSpark participant with cancer. And you know what? I feel it, too. When I do healing work, my stress disappears, and my overall well-being, both physical and emotional, improves.

It demonstrates that when we focus on lifting others up, we can’t help but feel better ourselves.

If you are looking for ways to have less stress and more joy in your life, consider the benefits of supporting others.
